Milli Majlis to discuss 14 legislative items in extraordinary session

The date and agenda for the next meeting of the extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) have been announced.

According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", the session, scheduled for June 30, will feature the discussion of 14 legislative items.

The agenda includes the following key items:

  • Draft law on accession to the "Metric Convention";
  • Draft law on "Execution of the 2025 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan" (third reading);
  • Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code, the Code on Execution of Punishments, and the law "On Enforcement" (third reading);
  • Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code (third reading);
  • Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, and the laws "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information" and "On Protection of Children from Harmful Information" (third reading);
  • Amendments to the Housing Code, and the laws "On the status of refugees and internally displaced persons (persons displaced within the country)" and "On social protection of internally displaced persons and persons equated to them" (third reading);
  • Draft Constitutional law on amendments to the Constitutional Law "On Normative Legal Acts" (second reading);
  • Amendments to the laws "On Civil Service" and "On Media" (second reading);
  • Amendments to the laws "On approval of the Internal Regulations of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan", "On Public Participation" and "On the procedure for the exercise of the right of legislative initiative by citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan" (second reading);
  • Amendments to the law "On General Education" (second reading);
  • Amendments to the law "On Psychiatric Care" (first reading);
  • Amendments to the laws "On the Budget System", "On Insurance Activity" and "On the Chamber of Accounts" (first reading);
  • Amendments to the law "On Customs Tariff" (first reading);
  • Amendments to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information" (first reading).

The Milli Majlis, as the supreme legislative body of Azerbaijan, frequently convenes extraordinary sessions to address urgent legislative reforms and budgetary adjustments. These sessions ensure that the legal framework of the country remains responsive to evolving socio-economic needs and international standards, reflecting the ongoing legislative activity within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
