The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) has adopted in the first reading a draft law introducing amendments to the Housing Code, as well as the laws "On the status of refugees and internally displaced persons (internally displaced persons)" and "On social protection of internally displaced persons and persons equated to them."
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the matter was brought to discussion during today's session of the parliament's extraordinary session. Following the deliberations, the draft law was put to a vote and subsequently approved.
It should be recalled that the document was previously discussed at a joint meeting of the Milli Majlis committees on Labor and Social Policy, Human Rights, and Legal Policy and State Building. These legislative changes are part of the ongoing efforts by the Republic of Azerbaijan to streamline social support mechanisms and integrate the legal framework for citizens returning to their native lands in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions, ensuring their social protection aligns with current national development strategies.
