Italy's AC Milan is preparing to formalize its long-term plans for 24-year-old Serbian center-back Strahinja Pavlovic by securing a contract extension.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, informs that the "Rossoneri" management intends to extend the defender's current agreement from 2028 to 2031, which will include a significant salary increase and specialized performance clauses.
Negotiations between the two parties are currently ongoing. The move is strategically designed to fend off growing interest and recent inquiries from several English Premier League clubs. Reports indicate that last summer, AC Milan rejected an 18 million euro offer from a German club for Pavlovic, signaling their firm intention to retain the Serbian international as a cornerstone of their defensive unit.
Pavlovic, a key figure for the Serbian national team, has earned 52 caps and scored four goals for his country. In the current Serie A season, the defender has made 18 appearances, contributing two goals and one assist. According to the Transfermarkt portal, his current market value is estimated at 28 million euros.
AC Milan, one of the most successful clubs in European football history with seven UEFA Champions League titles, has recently prioritized the development of young, physically dominant talents. The club's leadership views Pavlovic as a vital asset for the team's future stability and aims to finalize the contractual details in the near future to ensure his continued growth at the San Siro.
