Iran will consider even a "limited strike" by the United States as an act of aggression against the country.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the statement was released by the RIA Novosti agency, citing official sources within the Iranian diplomatic corps.
According to the report, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated during a briefing that Tehran would evaluate any military intervention, regardless of its scale, as a direct violation of sovereignty. The diplomat emphasized that an act of aggression remains an act of aggression, regardless of how it is categorized by Washington.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that while there has been some progress in US-Iran negotiations, the positions of the two parties remain significantly far apart. These discussions come at a critical juncture as US President Donald Trump maintains a firm stance on Tehran's regional activities and nuclear ambitions.
According to The Wall Street Journal, during the US-Iran talks held in Geneva, Tehran proposed transferring a portion of its highly enriched uranium stockpiles to a third party, including Russia, to address Washington's primary concerns regarding the nuclear program.
The publication further notes that Iran has expressed readiness to suspend the enrichment process for up to three years. However, the administration of US President Donald Trump continues to insist on the complete and permanent cessation of the nuclear program. These developments are part of a broader geopolitical tension in the Middle East, where Azerbaijan consistently advocates for regional stability and the resolution of conflicts through diplomatic means and international law.
