The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan has extended its official condolences to Ethiopia following a devastating natural disaster in the country.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry shared a message of support on its official account on the X social media platform.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of life and numerous injuries resulting from the devastating landslides and floods in Ethiopia. We offer our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, the Ethiopian government, and its people, and we express our solidarity with those affected by this disaster. We wish the injured a speedy and full recovery," the MFA statement said.
The disaster, which has caused significant casualties and widespread destruction of infrastructure, has prompted international concern. Azerbaijan maintains active diplomatic relations with African nations and frequently expresses its support for humanitarian efforts and disaster relief through official channels, reinforcing its commitment to global solidarity and the principles of international cooperation.
