New prices for forensic examination services in Azerbaijan have been officially approved. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree defining the list of examinations conducted in forensic institutions and the corresponding service fees.
Under the new regulations, the fees for services provided in forensic examination institutions are determined based on the procedural type of the examination as follows:
- For conducting an initial forensic examination: 100% of the amount confirmed by the schedule;
- For conducting an additional forensic examination: 50% of the amount set for the initial examination;
- For conducting a repeat forensic examination: 120% of the amount set for the initial examination;
- For conducting a complex forensic examination: the sum of the amounts for each of the initial examinations ordered;
- For conducting a commission forensic examination: an additional 50% of the initial examination fee for each expert involved.
The decree also specifies the fees for the participation of forensic medical experts, including forensic psychiatrists or psychologists, in court hearings:
- For participation within the same city or district – 50 manats;
- For participation in another city or district – 100 manats.
Furthermore, fees for sanitary services related to corpses in forensic institutions have been established, with hygienic care and formalin fixation set at 100 manats, and the provision of dry ice also set at 100 manats.
This decision by the Cabinet of Ministers aims to modernize the judicial-legal system in Azerbaijan and ensure transparency in the financing of forensic activities. Forensic examinations play a critical role in the country's legal proceedings, providing scientific evidence and expert testimony necessary for the fair administration of justice. By standardizing these tariffs, the government ensures that the material and technical base of forensic institutions is maintained while providing clear financial guidelines for legal practitioners and the public.
