Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has formally rejected circulating rumors regarding his potential resignation, affirming his commitment to continue his duties. The statement comes in response to reports suggesting he sought to step down from his position.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, the President addressed the speculation directly. "We will either move forward with strength or we will become martyrs. In both cases, this is a victory for us," he stated.

Pezeshkian further emphasized his dedication to the state, adding that he does not consider his own life more valuable than that of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. He stressed the necessity of remaining active to address the country's ongoing challenges.

The President's remarks were issued just hours after the media outlet "Iran International" alleged that Pezeshkian had sent a letter to the Supreme Leader's office expressing his desire to resign. The Iranian government promptly refuted these claims. Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani characterized the reports as part of a disinformation campaign aimed at destabilizing the country.

Masoud Pezeshkian assumed the presidency of Iran in July 2024 following the death of his predecessor, Ebrahim Raisi, in a helicopter crash. His administration has faced significant domestic and regional challenges, often becoming the subject of intense international media scrutiny regarding the stability of the Iranian political leadership.
