English club Manchester City is planning to strengthen its squad with a new signing during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing A Bola, reports that the club is targeting Morten Hjulmand, a midfielder for Lisbon's Sporting and the Danish national team.
According to the report, the English club has already initiated negotiations regarding the transfer of the Danish player. The Portuguese side is reportedly not opposed to the sale of one of its key players. Although the 26-year-old midfielder has a release clause of 80 million euros in his contract, Sporting is expected to demand between 40 and 50 million euros for the move.
Morten Hjulmand joined the Lisbon club in the summer of 2023 from Italy's Lecce for a fee of 19.5 million euros.
