Lukashenko congratulates Putin on Russia Day

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has extended his congratulations to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the citizens of Russia on the occasion of Russia Day.

According to the press service of the Belarusian President, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, Lukashenko highlighted the deep-rooted historical bonds shared between the Belarusian and Russian peoples in his congratulatory message.

The Belarusian leader noted that for centuries, Belarusians and Russians have stood shoulder to shoulder, overcoming challenges together and preserving the memory of their shared achievements and victories for future generations. Lukashenko highly valued the long-standing friendly relations established between the two nations.

Describing Russia as a progressive state that relies on its own strength, Lukashenko emphasized the country's robust economic and defense potential. He further noted that, amidst ongoing global shifts, Russia plays a pivotal role in ensuring a fair world order. The Belarusian President wished the Russian people happiness, prosperity, and well-being, while wishing President Vladimir Putin continued success in his efforts for the development of the Motherland.

Russia Day, celebrated annually on June 12, marks the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1990, a significant milestone in the country's modern history. The relationship between Belarus and Russia remains a cornerstone of regional geopolitics, characterized by close integration within the framework of the Union State.
