Turkish football giant Galatasaray has made a formal attempt to acquire Lokomotiv Moscow's attacking midfielder Aleksey Batrakov, according to reports.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Istanbul-based club submitted an official inquiry to the Moscow side to initiate negotiations regarding the transfer of the Russian player.
However, sources indicate that the general director of Lokomotiv rejected the proposal. The club's management stated that they are not currently interested in entering into any negotiations regarding the transfer of Aleksey Batrakov at this stage.
Reports suggest that Galatasaray officials had previously contacted representatives of the 21-year-old midfielder. However, because the release clause in the player's contract does not apply to Turkish Süper Lig clubs, the parties were directed to negotiate directly with Lokomotiv, which ultimately led to the refusal.
Aleksey Batrakov has emerged as one of the most promising talents in the Russian Premier League. According to the specialized portal Transfermarkt, the midfielder's current market value is estimated at 28 million euros, reflecting his significant impact on the pitch and his rising profile in European football.
