Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the Social Service Institution No. 6 for children in Sheki on April 27.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, during the visit, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva familiarized themselves with the activities of the institution, the conditions created for children deprived of parental care, and the work being done regarding their education, upbringing, and social protection. It was noted that the orphanage, which has been operating since 1936, was provided with a new building in 2018 at the initiative of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva.
Following the inspection of the facilities, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva watched a special cultural program prepared by the children. As part of the program, the children presented various dance and music performances, as well as sketches prepared in theater classes. The performances, reflecting the children's creative skills, talent, and stage culture, were received with great interest. At the conclusion of the visit, commemorative photos were taken with the staff and children, and gifts were presented to the residents.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the largest non-governmental organization in Azerbaijan, consistently prioritizes the welfare of children and the development of social institutions across the country. Since its establishment, the Foundation has spearheaded numerous projects aimed at reconstructing orphanages and boarding schools, ensuring they meet modern standards and provide a supportive environment for the younger generation's integration into society.
