Military tensions in the Asia-Pacific region continue to escalate as North Korea has issued a sharp condemnation of joint military exercises conducted by the United States and Japan.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cited reports from the North Korean state news agency KCNA, Pyongyang accused Tokyo of attempting to transform into a "war state" by exploiting global instability. North Korean officials alleged that Japan is enhancing its "invasion capabilities" by expanding military cooperation with the US. The statement warned that Tokyo's actions pose a serious threat to regional stability and cautioned that continued "reckless" military activities could lead to a "tragic end" for Japan.

The criticism centers on the "Resolute Dragon" joint military exercises involving the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and the US Marine Corps, which commenced on June 20 on the islands of Okinawa and Kyushu. While North Korea claimed to have conducted "preemptive" long-range missile tests in response to multinational drills in the region, South Korean defense officials confirmed they are closely monitoring the situation in coordination with the US. These exercises are part of a broader security architecture in the Asia-Pacific, where the US maintains alliances to deter regional threats and ensure maritime security.
