US Assistant Secretary of State Caleb Orr, who is on a visit to Baku, has visited the Alley of Martyrs.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the US Embassy in Azerbaijan shared information about the visit on its social media accounts.
“The US delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State Caleb Orr visited the Alley of Martyrs to honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan,” the embassy statement said.
The Alley of Martyrs, located in the capital city of Baku, is a solemn memorial dedicated to the Azerbaijani citizens killed by the Soviet army during the Black January massacre of 1990 and those who lost their lives in the Garabagh war. It stands as a sacred symbol of Azerbaijan's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and is traditionally visited by foreign dignitaries paying their respects during official visits to the country.
