Israel's military forces will maintain a permanent presence within the Gaza security zone to ensure long-term stability.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz made these remarks during a graduation ceremony for military academy officers. He emphasized that the nation's current defense policy is built upon proactivity, determination, the elimination of threats, and the rigorous protection of state borders.

"The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will remain in the Gaza security zone forever," Katz stated, underlining the strategic necessity of the buffer area. He further cautioned adversaries against testing Israel's resolve, asserting that any provocation would be met with a unified response from a strong and victorious military.

The Defense Minister also highlighted recent military actions, noting that operations had been conducted against the leadership of the Houthi movement in Yemen. Additionally, he pointed to measures taken against threats originating from Iran aimed at the destruction of the Israeli state. "In the future, we will not tolerate any threat directed at the destruction of Israel, and we will act against any danger, whether near or far," Katz declared.

This strategic stance comes amid ongoing regional tensions and follows a series of military escalations in the Middle East. The establishment of a permanent security zone is viewed by Israeli officials as a critical measure to prevent future incursions and to dismantle the infrastructure of militant groups operating near the border. The international community continues to monitor these developments closely, as the long-term presence of the IDF in Gaza carries significant implications for regional diplomacy and security dynamics.
