During his 20-year career, Mehdi Vafaei spearheaded strategic underground projects across Lebanon and Syria. He specifically managed the creation of subterranean infrastructure for the Iranian-backed Hezbollah organization and the Assad regime. The elimination of such a high-ranking technical expert marks a significant blow to the logistical capabilities of the Quds Force, which serves as the overseas arm of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
