According to a draft memorandum of understanding prepared between Iran and the United States, upcoming negotiations will primarily focus on nuclear and economic issues, while Iran's missile program will remain off the table.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Mehr news agency, that the draft document outlines commitments for the United States to lift sanctions against Iran, withdraw military forces from the region, and end maritime blockades.

The proposed agreement reportedly includes provisions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, lifting restrictions on Iranian oil exports, and unfreezing Iranian financial assets. The document also aims to facilitate the recovery of the Iranian economy and normalize financial flows.

According to the report, the project requires final approval from the relevant state authorities before it can come into effect. While the details remain preliminary, such a deal would represent a significant shift in the long-standing geopolitical tensions between Washington and Tehran.

The relationship between the United States and Iran has been characterized by decades of diplomatic estrangement and economic sanctions. The Strait of Hormuz, mentioned in the draft, is a critical chokepoint for global oil supplies, and any agreement affecting its status or Iranian oil exports would have profound implications for international energy markets and regional security.
