Drugs being smuggled from Iran into Azerbaijan by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) have been seized and removed from illicit circulation.
The State Border Service provided the information to the Operative Information Center-OMM.
It said that officers in the service area of the Horadiz border detachment of the State Border Service’s Border Troops discovered 38 kilograms and 778 grams of narcotics and 7,680 psychotropic Methadone M-40 tablets.
At 1:30 a.m., officers found and seized 21 kilograms and 700 grams of narcotics and 1,000 psychotropic Methadone M-40 tablets smuggled from Iran into Azerbaijan by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). At 4:10 a.m., they discovered and removed from illicit circulation a further 17 kilograms and 78 grams of narcotics and 6,680 psychotropic Methadone M-40 tablets transported by paraglider.
Operational and investigative measures are continuing in connection with the cases.
