Iran has called on the United States to refrain from military operations following recent diplomatic engagements.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing RIA Novosti, that Iranian military officials issued a stern warning to Washington following indirect talks held between Iran and the United States in Geneva.

Iranian military spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi warned of a "historic" response, stating that "any foolish move will ignite a fire that will engulf the entire region." According to Iranian state television, Shekarchi made these remarks in response to recent statements by US President Donald Trump. Prior to the negotiations, US President Donald Trump urged Tehran to reach an agreement, warning of severe consequences otherwise.

The high-ranking Iranian military official added that the Iranian army is monitoring all movements of US troops. He emphasized that in the event of any conflict, "all US resources and interests in the region will be within the reach of Iranian forces."

The indirect talks in Geneva represent a critical juncture in the long-standing tensions between Washington and Tehran. These discussions typically involve intermediaries from the European Union or regional partners, aimed at addressing nuclear enrichment concerns, regional security, and the lifting of economic sanctions. The heightened rhetoric from military officials underscores the fragile nature of these diplomatic efforts and the persistent risk of escalation in the Middle East.
