The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched a missile strike against the USS Abraham Lincoln, a United States Navy aircraft carrier, in the North Indian Ocean.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Press TV, that the vessel was targeted as regional tensions continue to escalate.
According to official statements, the operation involved the deployment of four Qadr-380 cruise missiles aimed at the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. Furthermore, the IRGC claimed to have conducted a separate strike targeting a clandestine meeting of US fighter jet flight engineers and pilots held near a military base in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This incident marks a significant escalation in maritime security within the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf regions, which serve as critical corridors for global energy supplies. The USS Abraham Lincoln is a cornerstone of the US Fifth Fleet's operations, frequently deployed to maintain regional stability and ensure the freedom of navigation in international waters. US President Donald Trump has previously emphasized that any threats to American strategic assets in the region would be met with a decisive response.
