İrakli Kobaxidze: Bakı-Tbilisi-Qars dəmir yolu ilə bağlı bütün detallar razılaşdırılıb

All technical and operational details regarding the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway have been finalized, and the section stretching from Marabda to the border of the Republic of Türkiye (Kartsaxi) will be commissioned shortly. This development is expected to significantly bolster the regional transit and logistics capabilities of the participating nations.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these remarks were made by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during a statement to Georgian journalists. "All details regarding the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway have been agreed upon, and this section of the railway will be put into operation very soon. Georgian Railways will ensure the operation, and a joint venture will be established with the Azerbaijani side. This project is vital for strengthening our connectivity functions," Kobakhidze stated.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, often referred to as the "Iron Silk Road," is a strategic corridor connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. Launched in 2017, the project serves as a critical link in the Middle Corridor, facilitating the movement of goods between China and Europe. The recent modernization and expansion efforts aim to increase the line's annual throughput capacity to 5 million tons, further cementing Azerbaijan's role as a central transport hub in Eurasia and enhancing the economic integration of the South Caucasus region.
