Inter Milan continues its efforts to strengthen its squad during the current transfer window.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing renowned football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the club is actively scouting for defensive reinforcements.

Reports indicate that Inter Milan was forced to pivot to alternative options after their pursuit of Atalanta player Marco Palestra was thwarted by Chelsea. The Milanese club had been close to reaching an agreement with Palestra, but the London club's intervention ultimately scuttled the deal.

Consequently, Inter Milan has identified Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso as a primary target. While formal negotiations between the clubs have not yet commenced, initial contacts are expected to be established in the coming days.

The 26-year-old defender is reportedly attracting significant interest from other major European clubs, including Barcelona and Chelsea, making the race for his signature highly competitive.

According to the Transfermarkt portal, Andrea Cambiaso's current market value is estimated at 20 million euros. His contract with Juventus is valid until 2029, which may complicate potential transfer negotiations.

Inter Milan, one of Italy's most successful clubs, frequently competes at the highest level of European football. Securing defensive depth is a strategic priority for the club as it aims to maintain its competitive edge in both Serie A and international competitions.
