Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi may hold a bilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the upcoming G7 summit in France.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Indian media reports, this potential encounter would mark the first direct contact between the two leaders since their last face-to-face discussions in Washington in February 2025.
While sources have not disclosed specific details regarding the planned agenda, it is widely expected that the discussions will focus on bilateral trade agreements, as well as various regional and global issues of mutual interest. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from either side regarding the preparations for this specific meeting.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs previously announced that the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with several world leaders during the summit. The G7 summit, which brings together the leaders of the world's leading industrialized democracies, serves as a critical platform for high-level diplomacy, allowing heads of state to address pressing geopolitical challenges and strengthen international partnerships.
