The Indian government is considering a significant step toward bolstering international peace and security by evaluating a formal invitation to join the Peace Council.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Randhir Jaiswal, the official spokesperson for India's Ministry of External Affairs (MFA), confirmed during a briefing that New Delhi has received a strategic invitation from the United States to become a member of the council. The Indian leadership is currently conducting a comprehensive analysis of the proposal.

“We have received an invitation from the US to join the Peace Council. We are currently working on this proposal and conducting the necessary evaluations,”

Jaiswal stated.

The spokesperson emphasized that India’s foreign policy remains steadfastly committed to ensuring peace, security, and diplomatic dialogue in the Middle East. Highlighting the position of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaiswal noted that India welcomes initiatives aimed at establishing long-term stability in the Gaza Strip and surrounding regions. This move aligns with the broader strategic cooperation between New Delhi and the administration of US President Donald Trump, as both nations seek to address complex geopolitical challenges through multilateral frameworks. India's potential involvement in the Peace Council reflects its growing influence as a mediator in global affairs and its commitment to humanitarian principles in conflict zones.
