President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva arrived in the city of Bukhara from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on August 24.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that upon their arrival at the Bukhara International Airport, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva were welcomed by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and his wife, Ziroatxon Mirziyoyeva.
The visit to Bukhara, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and status as a UNESCO World Heritage site, underscores the deepening strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Bukhara serves as a significant center for Islamic history and architecture in Central Asia, and the visit highlights the shared historical and cultural ties that continue to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
