President Ilham Aliyev received Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, on May 17.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Deryageldi Orazov conveyed the greetings of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, to the head of state. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and requested that his own regards be conveyed to the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the guest congratulated Azerbaijan on the upcoming 13th session of the World Urban Forum to be held in the country. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his appreciation for Turkmenistan's initiative to construct a mosque in Fuzuli, noting that the construction process is currently ongoing. The head of state emphasized that these territories were destroyed and cities were laid to waste by Armenia during the period of occupation, but are now undergoing large-scale restoration. Deryageldi Orazov stated his intention to visit the liberated territories to personally familiarize himself with the ongoing infrastructure projects.
The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in urban planning reflects the strengthening bilateral ties and mutual support in regional development. The construction of the mosque in Fuzuli stands as a significant gesture of solidarity between the two Turkic nations. Furthermore, Azerbaijan's hosting of the World Urban Forum highlights its commitment to sustainable urban growth and its successful model of post-conflict reconstruction in the Garabagh region.
