President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev gave an interview to Azerbaijani television channels in Munich on February 13. The interview was presented by the Operative Information Center-OMM.

During the interview, President Ilham Aliyev addressed several critical issues regarding regional security and international cooperation. Speaking to REAL TV, the head of state emphasized that Azerbaijan's message at the Munich Security Conference remains focused on cooperation and peace. "For the first time, I am participating in this event as a head of state who has already achieved peace," President Ilham Aliyev stated, noting that Azerbaijan's role in energy security, transport connectivity, and artificial intelligence continues to grow on the global agenda.

Regarding the prospects of a peace treaty with Armenia, President Ilham Aliyev told Public Television that the timing depends on Yerevan. He stressed that Armenia must make necessary changes to its Constitution to remove territorial claims against Azerbaijan. "As soon as those changes are made, we can sign the peace treaty the next day," the President said, adding that de-facto peace already exists following agreements reached in Washington and the initialing of documents. He also highlighted the significance of the Peace Council initiative by US President Donald Trump, describing it as a potential element of a new world order where international law must be revitalized to move beyond the principle of "might is right."

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) is one of the world's most prestigious platforms for debating international security policy. Since its inception in 1963, it has served as an independent forum for decision-makers to discuss current and future security challenges. Azerbaijan's consistent participation in the MSC underscores the country's strategic importance as a key player in the South Caucasus and a vital contributor to European energy security and trans-continental logistics through projects like the Zangazur corridor and the Middle Corridor.
