President Ilham Aliyev has emphasized the vital role of the institution of elders in Azerbaijan, stating that their active participation across all spheres of life is essential for the nation's development. In an address to the participants of the 9th Congress of the Azerbaijan Council of Elders, the head of state noted that the wisdom and experience of the older generation serve as a cornerstone for social stability.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted that increasing global threats, particularly the negative influences of globalization and social media platforms, have led to the erosion of national, moral, and family values in many countries. "Raising our youth in the spirit of national patriotism and connection to their roots, directing them on the right path is one of the main tasks facing our elders," the President stated in his message.
The Azerbaijan Council of Elders is a prominent public organization that plays a significant role in the socio-political and cultural life of the country. It focuses on preserving centuries-old traditions, promoting national heritage, and providing guidance to the younger generation. In recent years, the institution has become increasingly involved in state-led initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and maintaining the traditional family structure within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
