By leveraging the significant potential of our mutual cooperation, we can further enrich the bilateral agenda between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.
As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was conveyed in a letter from President Ilham Aliyev to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
"Currently, our interstate relations, based on friendship, mutual respect, and trust, as well as our effective cooperation in political, economic-trade, investment, and energy sectors—including renewable energy—are developing dynamically and sustainably," the head of state noted.
"I am confident that we will continue to successfully pursue our joint efforts toward further strengthening the traditional friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries for the prosperity of our peoples," President Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
The United Kingdom remains one of the largest foreign investors in Azerbaijan, primarily through its significant involvement in the country's energy sector. The partnership has evolved significantly since the early 1990s, expanding from oil and gas exploration into broader economic, cultural, and educational initiatives, reflecting a deepening strategic alignment between Baku and London.
