Turkish singer and philanthropist Haluk Levent, the founder of the "Ahbap" association, has expressed his deep gratitude to the people of Azerbaijan for their extensive support following the devastating earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. Speaking on the sidelines of the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13), Levent emphasized the profound bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
"We received significant assistance from our Azerbaijani brothers during the Kahramanmaraş earthquake," Levent told journalists, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM. "We thank the people of Azerbaijan for the support they showed us during our difficult times. They truly made us feel that we are brotherly countries." He further noted that reconstruction efforts in the affected regions are ongoing, with all state institutions working to revitalize the cities. "I believe we will return to our former days as soon as possible," he added.
The Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, which struck southern Türkiye in February 2023, triggered an immediate and large-scale humanitarian response from Azerbaijan. Under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan was the first country to deploy rescue teams and send humanitarian aid to the disaster zone. This cooperation underscores the "One nation, two states" philosophy that characterizes the strategic partnership between Baku and Ankara, reflecting a commitment to mutual aid during international crises.
