Turkey is moving forward with the process of normalizing relations with neighboring Armenia in close coordination with Azerbaijan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during the opening ceremony of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Turkish leader emphasized the importance of maintaining positive relations with neighboring states to ensure regional stability. "We are advancing the normalization process with Armenia step-by-step, in a coordinated manner with Azerbaijan," President Erdogan stated, highlighting the strategic alignment between Ankara and Baku regarding South Caucasus peace initiatives.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is a high-level gathering of political leaders, diplomats, and academics aimed at addressing global and regional challenges through dialogue. The normalization process between Turkey and Armenia, which gained momentum following the 2020 Garabagh War, involves the appointment of special envoys and the gradual reopening of borders and transport links. Azerbaijan has consistently expressed support for these efforts, provided they contribute to a comprehensive and sustainable peace treaty in the region.
