Elxan Samadov has been re-elected as the president of the Professional Football League (PFL) during the organization's General Assembly.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the event was attended by PFL President Elxan Samadov, AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev, members of the PFL Board, club representatives, and other guests.
The assembly began with the national anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence to honor the memory of martyrs and deceased football figures. With the necessary quorum of voting members present, the meeting was declared official. The agenda included the presentation of the Public Union's report, the election of the executive body, and other current administrative matters.
Following the presentation of a video report summarizing the PFL's activities over the past four years, financial reports were delivered by PFL accountant Haji Babayev and independent auditor Natig Karimov. Elxan Samadov, the sole candidate, was subsequently re-elected unanimously for another four-year term.
The new composition of the PFL Board was also approved unanimously. For the next four years, the board will consist of the following members:
- Elxan Samadov – PFL President
- Malik Hasanov – Advisor on Sports Affairs
- Aslan Shahgeldiyev – Vice President
- Zaur Haji-Maharramov – Executive Director
- Elgiz Abbasov – Technical and Sports Director
- Sanan Abdullayev – Media and Marketing Director
The Professional Football League serves as the primary governing body for the organization and management of professional football competitions in Azerbaijan, working closely with the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) to develop the sport across the country.
