Transit shipments along the Middle Corridor have shown consistent growth, with an expected increase of nearly 11% in 2025. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov made these remarks during a meeting of heads of government and vice presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

According to the Prime Minister, the region, situated at the intersection of the East-West and North-South corridors connecting Europe and Asia, holds vital importance for international transport and logistics. "To utilize this potential more effectively, the development of transport links and the expansion of transit opportunities must be among the key priorities. In this regard, the significance of the Middle Corridor should be particularly emphasized," he noted.

In recent years, this route has emerged as one of the most promising, safe, and reliable connection lines on the Eurasian transport map. As a result of joint efforts, transit volumes via the Middle Corridor continue to rise steadily, with the growth reaching nearly 11% (5 million tons) in 2025. Prime Minister Ali Asadov concluded by highlighting that Azerbaijan has invested heavily in the development of the Middle Corridor, establishing modern transport and logistics infrastructure to support regional connectivity.

The Middle Corridor, officially known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), serves as a critical bridge between China and the European Union, bypassing traditional northern routes. By integrating rail and maritime infrastructure across Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Turkiye, the corridor significantly reduces transit times for global trade. Azerbaijan's strategic investments in the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway remain central to the corridor's operational efficiency and the country's role as a regional logistics hub.
