Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas sector exports (excluding non-monetary gold) reached $2.5 billion in the first seven months of this year, marking an 18.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports this data, citing the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
In July alone, the value of the country's non-oil and gas exports rose by 15.8% year-on-year, totaling $384.8 million.
During the reporting period, food product exports were valued at $123 million, while non-food product exports (excluding non-monetary gold) increased by 26%, reaching $261.8 million.
According to the data, the export value of sugar increased 2.6 times, cotton yarn by 81.9%, vegetable and animal fats and oils by 39.5%, aluminum and aluminum products by 39.4%, cotton fiber by 24.9%, ferrous metals and their products by 23.3%, tea by 19.5%, fruits and vegetables by 16.4%, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by 3%.
Overall, the export value of agricultural products grew by 22.1% to $673.4 million, while agro-industrial product exports rose by 24.8% to $223.1 million. Combined, the export value of agricultural and agro-industrial products increased by 22.8%, totaling $896.4 million.
This growth underscores Azerbaijan's ongoing strategic efforts to diversify its economy and reduce reliance on hydrocarbon revenues by strengthening the non-oil sector, a key pillar of the national economic development agenda.
