The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued a formal appeal to graduates and parents ahead of the upcoming "Last Bell" celebrations. The advisory emphasizes the critical importance of road safety during this period of festivities.

This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the department.

Authorities noted that in previous years, some graduates and teenagers have attempted to operate vehicles belonging to parents, relatives, or other individuals, or have been permitted to do so. The department warned that such irresponsible behavior frequently leads to severe traffic accidents, loss of life, and other tragic consequences.

"Driving a vehicle without a license, as well as entrusting a vehicle to an unlicensed person, is strictly prohibited. Such actions are not only violations of the law but also pose a serious threat to the life and health of citizens," the statement read.

The department also highlighted regulations regarding smaller vehicles: "There are specific age requirements for operating scooters, and a valid driver's license is mandatory for mopeds and motorcycles. Using these vehicles in violation of the law, or performing dangerous, exhibitionist maneuvers, can lead to serious traffic accidents."

The Main State Traffic Police Department urged parents to strengthen supervision over their children and proactively prevent behaviors that could endanger their safety. Furthermore, the department called on individuals and legal entities engaged in car rental services to strictly adhere to legislation and refuse to provide vehicles to persons without a valid driver's license.

To ensure public safety, the Main State Traffic Police Department announced that it will operate under an enhanced service regime. Patrols will be intensified in areas surrounding educational institutions, locations where graduates typically congregate, and along routes with high traffic density to implement necessary control and preventive measures.

The "Last Bell" ceremony is a traditional event marking the end of the academic year in Azerbaijan, typically held in late May. Given the large number of students celebrating in public spaces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs consistently implements heightened security and traffic control measures to ensure the safety of the youth.
