Military personnel of the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan have been awarded for their distinguished service, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.
President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree recognizing the contributions of these servicemen. The awards were granted in recognition of their exemplary performance in ensuring the protection of Azerbaijan's state borders, safeguarding the country's territorial integrity, and successfully fulfilling the tasks assigned to the border protection agencies.
The State Border Service plays a critical role in the national security architecture of Azerbaijan. Tasked with the protection of the state border, the agency is responsible for preventing illegal border crossings, combating smuggling, and ensuring the security of the country's frontiers. The awarding of these medals and orders serves as a formal recognition of the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by the personnel in maintaining the sovereignty and security of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
