President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree granting higher military ranks to a group of servicemen within the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decree recognizes the professional service and contributions of these officers to the national security infrastructure.
Under the presidential order, the rank of lieutenant general was conferred upon Major General Babek Mursal oglu Alakbarov, Major General Agshin Ramiz oglu Maharramov, and Major General Faig Hamzaagha oglu Mammadov. Additionally, Colonel Elfan Shakir oglu Guliyev was promoted to the rank of major general.
The State Border Service plays a critical role in ensuring the territorial integrity and security of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The granting of these high-ranking titles is part of the ongoing modernization and strengthening of the country's armed forces, reflecting the state's commitment to maintaining a robust defense capability along its borders.
