Denmark is prepared to discuss the joint financing of nuclear programs or the potential deployment of nuclear weapons on Danish soil.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen expressed openness to revising the nation's long-standing defense posture.

The minister emphasized that any such discussions must take place within the framework of NATO.

"This does not mean that we must do it here and now. However, in the current situation, I am open to discussing the entire structure of our nuclear policy, both from an economic perspective and in terms of potential capabilities," Troels Lund Poulsen stated.

For the past 70 years, Denmark's official policy has been to prohibit the presence of nuclear weapons within the kingdom. This potential shift comes amid a changing security landscape in Europe, where NATO member states are increasingly re-evaluating their defense strategies and deterrence capabilities. As a founding member of NATO, Denmark has traditionally balanced its alliance commitments with a policy of self-imposed restrictions on nuclear armaments and foreign military bases during peacetime.
