Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with a delegation led by the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, in the city of Gabala.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed of the meeting by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. During the discussions, the sides extensively reviewed the development prospects of the existing friendly and strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of political dialogue and examined opportunities for expanding cooperation in economy, trade, investments, energy (including renewable energy), transport and logistics, high technologies, and education. Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information on the favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan and the large-scale infrastructure projects being implemented in the region, emphasizing the importance of the participation of UAE companies in these initiatives.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. The sides stressed the importance of further strengthening cooperation within international platforms. Relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE have seen significant growth in recent years, particularly in the green energy sector, following the inauguration of the 230 MW Garadagh Solar Photovoltaic Plant, the largest in the region, developed by the UAE-based Masdar company. This partnership aligns with Azerbaijan's strategic goal to increase the share of renewable energy in its total power capacity to 30% by 2030.
