A Russian delegation is scheduled to begin trilateral negotiations in Geneva today after 14:30 Moscow time to discuss the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing RIA Novosti, that the third round of trilateral talks between representatives of Russia, the United States, and Ukraine will take place in Geneva on February 17-18. The Russian delegation will be led by presidential aide Vladimir Medinski.

The previous stage of trilateral negotiations was held on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi. During that meeting, the Russian delegation was headed by Admiral Igor Kostyukov, Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the change in the delegation's composition is due to the planned discussion of a broader range of topics in Switzerland, including territorial issues.

The involvement of US President Donald Trump's administration in these high-level discussions underscores the intensifying international diplomatic efforts to reach a settlement. Geneva has historically served as a neutral ground for major international peace processes and diplomatic mediation. These talks follow a series of preliminary meetings aimed at establishing a framework for a sustainable ceasefire and addressing the complex geopolitical security concerns in Eastern Europe.
