On April 5, final examinations for the general (9-year) secondary education level will be held across various regions of Azerbaijan, including the Khatai, Narimanov, Garadagh, Surakhani, Sabail, and Pirallahi districts of Baku, as well as in Ganja, Samux, Yevlakh, Shamkir, Agstafa, Sheki, Lankaran, Astara, Yardimli, Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Shusha, Khankendi, Kalbajar, Khojaly, Ujar, Zardab, Shamakhi, Imishli, Hajigabul, Bilasuvar, Gusar, Siyazan, Khizi, and Shabran.
The State Examination Center (SEC) informed Report that the exams are scheduled to begin at 11:00. The admission process to the examination halls will conclude at 10:45, exactly 15 minutes before the start. Participants arriving after this time will not be permitted to enter the examination buildings.
To ensure a smooth entry process, specific arrival times have been assigned to each participant and are indicated on their examination admission tickets. Students are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, electronic devices, dictionaries, or any other auxiliary materials into the examination halls. Required documents for entry include the original admission ticket and a valid identification document. For citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, this includes those under the age of 16 who must present their national ID cards.
According to the SEC, a total of 49,701 students are expected to participate in the exams across 207 buildings and 3,664 examination halls. To manage the process, 601 exam supervisors, 4,554 proctors, and 670 security officers have been deployed. Special provisions have been made for 54 students with physical disabilities, including individual proctors for visually impaired participants and accessible halls for those with mobility issues.
In Azerbaijan, the State Examination Center is the central body responsible for conducting centralized entrance and final examinations to ensure transparency and meritocracy in the education system. These 9th-grade final exams serve as a critical assessment for students completing their mandatory general secondary education, determining their eligibility for further specialized or vocational schooling. To maintain the highest security standards, all examination centers are inspected and sealed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Main Security Department 24 hours before the start of the tests.
