Vilnius and Kyiv have signed a strategic agreement for the production of weaponry in Lithuania for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The document was signed by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Press Service of the President of Lithuania released information regarding the new partnership. The agreement aims to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities through direct industrial cooperation.

The publication quotes President Nauseda: "This agreement is not only an industrial or technological project, but also a testament to our political will and strategic partnership."

Under the terms of the agreement, the majority of defense systems produced in Lithuania will be primarily designated for Ukraine. Vilnius will also establish joint production facilities using national funds and the SAFE program, while creating necessary conditions for the relocation of Ukrainian defense enterprises to Lithuania.

This move comes as Lithuania continues to be one of the most vocal supporters of Ukraine within the European Union and NATO. Since the beginning of the conflict, Lithuania has provided significant military, financial, and humanitarian aid. The establishment of joint manufacturing hubs marks a transition from direct equipment transfers to a long-term sustainable defense partnership, ensuring a steady supply of modern military technology to the region.
