The United Kingdom government has committed to increasing defense spending, reinforcing its obligations within NATO, and maintaining its steadfast support for Ukraine.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, King Charles III announced these priorities during his speech outlining the legislative agenda for the new parliamentary session. The King emphasized that the government's foreign policy will be guided by a rigorous assessment of national interests, with a particular focus on strengthening cooperation with European partners.

The Monarch also stated that Britain remains committed to fostering peace in the Middle East and supports a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The speech included the introduction of more than 35 bills covering critical sectors such as the economy, energy, national security, education, healthcare, and transport. This legislative program comes at a time of heightened political scrutiny for Prime Minister Keir Starmer's administration, following recent resignations within the government.

The King's Speech is a cornerstone of the British constitutional monarchy, serving as a formal platform for the government to signal its strategic direction to both Parliament and the international community. This particular address highlights the UK's strategic shift toward bolstering defense capabilities in response to evolving global security challenges and the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe, reaffirming London's role as a key player in the North Atlantic alliance.
