Garabagh defender Bahlul Mustafazade has made history as the first Azerbaijani footballer to score a goal in the main stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the 28-year-old defender secured the milestone in the 90+4th minute of the match against German side Eintracht Frankfurt. Mustafazade's late strike proved to be the decisive moment for the Azerbaijani representative.
The match concluded with a 3:2 victory for the Aghdam-based club. Following this result, Garabagh currently holds the 17th position in the tournament standings with 10 points, while Eintracht Frankfurt sits in 33rd place with 4 points. The Azerbaijani champions are scheduled to play their final match of this stage against Liverpool in England on January 29.
