According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the recent 5-2 victory by Sabah FC over Hapoel Be'er Sheva (Israel) in the UEFA Champions League play-off round significantly boosted Azerbaijan's coefficient score.
With this result, Azerbaijan has climbed to the 25th position in the UEFA rankings, accumulating a coefficient of 23.687. This achievement allows the country to overtake Slovenia, which currently holds a coefficient of 22.843. Israel remains in 24th place with a coefficient of 23.750, placing it within striking distance for Azerbaijani clubs in upcoming fixtures.
The UEFA coefficient ranking is a critical metric used to determine the number of clubs a national association can enter into the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. England currently leads the overall table with a coefficient of 101.907. The consistent participation and success of Azerbaijani clubs, including Qarabağ, in these continental competitions are vital for improving the nation's standing and securing more favorable seeding in future European draws.
