A round table featuring civil society representatives from Azerbaijan and Armenia has commenced as part of the "Peace Bridge" initiative, aimed at fostering direct communication between the two nations.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing AZERTAC, reports that the discussions focus on promoting dialogue and establishing direct contacts between civil society members of both countries. Earlier today, the Armenian delegation entered Azerbaijan via the land border through a delimited and demarcated section, completing all necessary border and passport control procedures.
The dialogue is being conducted within the framework of the bilateral peace agenda confirmed during the trilateral summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025, which involved the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and US President Donald Trump. The meeting's agenda includes the current state of the peace process, activities carried out by "Peace Bridge" participants in their respective countries, and an exchange of views on the regional situation.
The "Peace Bridge" initiative serves as a critical platform for track-two diplomacy, complementing official state-level negotiations between Baku and Yerevan. By facilitating people-to-people contact and transparency at the border, such initiatives are designed to build mutual trust and support the broader normalization process in the South Caucasus following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
