The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan has issued an update regarding the foggy weather conditions currently affecting the capital and surrounding areas.
In a statement provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the service noted that fog is presently being observed in Baku and various parts of the Absheron Peninsula. According to official forecasts, the current atmospheric phenomenon is tied to specific synoptic conditions prevalent across the country.
"The fog observed in the territory of Azerbaijan is an atmospheric event related to the current synoptic situation. From this evening, the south-east wind is expected to be replaced by a north-west wind, which will lead to the gradual thinning and dissipation of the fog," the statement emphasized.
Foggy conditions in the Absheron Peninsula are common during seasonal transitions, often impacting visibility on major highways and operations at international transport hubs. The National Hydrometeorological Service continues to monitor atmospheric pressure and humidity levels to provide timely updates for residents and travelers in Azerbaijan.
