The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they conducted extensive airstrikes against dozens of Hezbollah positions across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the IDF spokesperson confirmed the military action.
The official statement emphasized that these operations were carried out in direct response to repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement by the radical group. According to Israeli military data, a total of 80 targets were struck during the operation, resulting in the neutralization of several Hezbollah operatives.
The IDF spokesperson noted that the recent strikes specifically targeted two command centers in the Bekaa Valley used by Hezbollah fighters. Furthermore, operations in the Nabatieh region and other areas of southern Lebanon successfully destroyed command centers, weapons depots, rocket launchers, and additional military infrastructure. The Israeli military reiterated that these operations were conducted both within and outside the designated security zone.
This escalation occurs amidst a fragile regional security environment. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has intensified significantly since October 2023, remains a primary source of instability in the Middle East.
