The United States has reportedly utilized thousands of missiles during recent military operations against Iran, leading to significant depletion of its strategic stockpiles.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, has disclosed the scale of the munitions expenditure. According to the report, the US military deployed more than 1,000 long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles during the operations against Iran.

Furthermore, Washington reportedly expended between 1,500 and 2,000 interceptor missiles designed for Patriot and THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) air defense systems. Experts emphasize that replenishing these critical reserves could take up to six years, a timeline that has prompted the US administration to reassess its operational plans for future global crises.

This situation has raised concerns among some American officials regarding the ability of the US to fulfill its defense commitments elsewhere, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, the military's capacity to defend Taiwan in a potential conflict with China is being scrutinized due to these inventory shortages. While these assessments are largely tied to short-term scenarios, they underscore the pressure on the US defense industrial base to maintain readiness across multiple strategic theaters.
