US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has issued a significant warning regarding ongoing negotiations with Iran, stating that all options, including military intervention, remain on the table. The Secretary made these remarks while addressing journalists during his visit to the state of Colorado.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Secretary noted that Tehran must sign a new agreement, emphasizing that US President Donald Trump prioritizes this diplomatic path. Hegseth clarified that if an agreement is not reached, various strategic plans are ready to be presented to the head of state.

"Every option is on the table. This depends entirely on the President's decision. We are here to ensure that an agreement is reached. I believe that signing a good deal would be the wisest move for Iran," Hegseth stated.

Furthermore, US President Donald Trump has categorically denied reports suggesting that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Cain is opposed to a potential military conflict with Iran. The President dismissed these claims as entirely false, warning that the consequences for Tehran would be severe in the absence of a formal agreement.

The diplomatic standoff follows the resumption of nuclear talks, which had been suspended in June 2025. Negotiations recently restarted in Oman on February 6 and continued in Geneva on February 18. The next round of high-level discussions is scheduled to take place on February 26. These talks are seen as a critical juncture for regional security and international non-proliferation efforts, as the US administration under US President Donald Trump seeks more stringent terms to prevent nuclear escalation in the Middle East.
