The Red Crescent Society of Iran's Khuzestan province has dispatched 15 rescue teams to Iraq to support upcoming mourning ceremonies.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this deployment is intended to strengthen security and medical support in connection with the funeral ceremonies for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The rescue teams have been placed on high alert to respond rapidly to any emergencies that may arise during the events. Officials noted that the teams will work in close coordination with relevant Iraqi authorities to provide medical assistance and necessary support at locations where large crowds are expected to gather.
Such cross-border humanitarian and medical cooperation is a standard practice during major regional events involving large-scale public gatherings. The Iranian Red Crescent Society frequently collaborates with neighboring countries to manage logistics and emergency response during significant religious or state-level observances.
